Connecticut Flower & Garden Show, HartfordThe 38th annual “Connecticut Flower & Garden Show” takes place February 21 through 24, 2019, in the Connecticut Convention Center, 100 Columbus Boulevard, Hartford, Connecticut. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Themed, “The Charm of Spring”, the show offering ideas for house, apartment, and condo dwellers. There’ll be more than an acre of gardens in full bloom by landscape designers and nonprofit organizations, including naturalistic, low maintenance, native, organic, herb and pollinator gardens.

The Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut’s 2019 “Advanced Standard Flower Show” is a design, horticulture, and photography competition with more than 250 judged entries under the theme “April in Paris”.

More than 300 booths of displays, activities, shopping are planned: artisans, handcrafted gifts, fresh flowers, plants, garden ornaments, metalwork sculptures, herbs, bulbs, seeds, fertilizers, soils, gardening books, patio furniture, lawn and garden tools, equipment. Want to check your garden dirt? Bring 1/2 cup of soil to the University of Connecticut’s Co-op booth for free soil testing.

There will be some 80 hours of seminars included in the admission price, including Mar Jennings, Roger Swain, Mike McGrath, Nancy DuBrule-Clemente, and Patrick Comins. The seminar schedule is online.
