Singapore Garden Festival’s Horticulture Show
Making plans to visit Singapore, Road Trips Gardeners? A Horticulture Show (a Singapore Garden Festival Event) will take place April 27 through May 5, 2019, in Singapore’s national gardens, Jurong Lake Gardens.
The nine-day biennial event will be an opportunity for local industry partners and students to showcase their expertise in areas like landscape design, horticulture skills such as growing and cultivating plants, and skyrise greenery.
Organized by the National Parks Board of Singapore, the inaugural Horticulture Show will include a mix of landscape and plant exhibits, competitions, retail, and workshops.
There will be competitions in eight categories: foliage plants, gesneriads, bromeliads, succulents, carnivorous plants, ferns, flowering plants, and edibles.
“We have seen a growing interest in gardening – through the increase in Community in Bloom gardens, and overall visitorship to our parks and events. We see more people keen on creating their own mini gardens, balcony gardens, or getting involved in community gardening in their neighborhoods, and felt that it is timely for a national horticulture show with competitions that celebrate the fruits of their labor,” said Mr Ng Cheow Kheng, Group Director, Horticulture and Community Gardening, NParks.
In addition, the preliminary selection round for the biennial “Floral Windows to the World” competition will take place at the SGF Horticulture Show.
