Steaks and Daffodils in Camden, Arkansas
Millions of daffodils burst into bloom across acres of gardens in and around Camden, Arkansas – hopefully perfectly timed for the annual Daffodil Festival, set for March 8 and 9, 2019.
And then there’s the beef. The 19th annual Steak Cook-Off will be held in the parking lot on Washington Street and Harrison Street from 5 to 6:15 p.m. March 9, 2019.
But, back to the flowers, Road Trips Gardeners. Established in 1993, The Camden Daffodil Festival is always held the second Friday and Saturday of March. Garden tours start at the First United Methodist Church, 116 Jefferson Street, and take place from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Beale Daffodil Farm and Grace Hill. Self-guided tours are planned at Oakland Farms and the Dawson Daffodil Farm. Tour tickets are available online.
In addition to the blooms, the McCollum-Chidester House Museum will be open, and the Oakland Cemetery will have costumed actors telling stories of the early settlers resting there.
The festival is the primary fundraiser for the Ouachita County Historical Society, and is a registered 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization.
