Orchid Escape Underway in Evansville, Indiana
Hundreds of unique orchids are blooming in Amazonia during Orchid Escape at Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden, 1545 Mesker Park Drive, Evansville, Indiana. The display continues through March 17, 2019.
Immerse yourself in the beauty of orchids in the 75° comfort of Amazonia. This indoor rainforest exhibit — a 20,000-square-foot “greenhouse” — features South American animals, plants, aquatic life, and artifacts.
While winding through Amazonia, visitors encounter dozens of rainforest residents from those who live high in the canopy to those on the forest floor below. Tropical trees and palms soar to the 45-foot tall roof, and create a lush tropical setting. Howler Monkeys and Toucans welcome visitors to their treetop homes. Tapirs and other exotic creatures wait around each bend in the trail. Visitors are also treated to a look at the elusive and majestic jaguar.
Orchid Escape is included in the price of regular admission.
