Sacred Heart Garden Festival in Augusta, Georgia
New this year for the 28th annual Sacred Heart Garden Festival is a live Butterfly Habitat.
The festival takes place April 26 through 28, 2019, at the Sacred Heart Cultural Center, 1301 Greene Street, Augusta, Georgia. A fundraiser centered on classic gardening, the festival “fuses Southern hospitality with a labyrinth of ornamental flowers and sculpted greenery for an unforgettable three-day experience”. Look for speakers, live entertainment, tours, and parties throughout the weekend.
Interactive exhibits with butterflies are woven throughout the festival. Tours of private gardens will be conducted daily from noon until 5 p.m. This year, the tour features five private gardens on both sides of the Savannah River, including the historic Summerville area.
“The Sacred Heart Garden Festival is the perfect event to learn from experts and professionals from the Augusta-area and beyond,” said Sacred Heart Cultural Center Program Director, Kim Overstreet. “Nicknamed the Garden City of the South for good reason, this region is ideal for achieving successful gardening results. The temperature and climate are ripe for year-long plantings producing beautiful landscapes no matter the season.”
Tickets including the private tours are $25 for all three days in advance, or $30 at the door
