Milkweed and a Monarch butterflyA Monarchs and Milkweed Festival takes place noon to 3 p.m. June 23, 2019, in LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, part of the Forest Preserve District of Kane County, 37W700 Dean Street, St. Charles, Illinois.

It’s the perfect time to pick up some (free!) milkweed plants to feed those gorgeous butterflies. Butterfly house kits will be for sale, and there’ll also be crafts, live music, food, and fun. Guided hikes in the prairie are planned as well.

Feel free to bring chairs and picnic blankets.
