Cajun Prairie Habitat Preservation Society Tour
The Cajun Prairie Habitat Preservation Society Tour takes place between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday (September 7, 2019), at the Cajun Prairie Habitat Restoration Site, 510 East Magnolia, Eunice, Louisiana.
The Cajun Prairie Habitat Preservation Society began as a project to restore a ten-acre plot of Cajun Prairie located in Eunice, Louisiana. The year was 1988 and volunteers used only local seeds and plugs collected from nearby prairie remnants. The fall tour highlights the restoration areas.
At 8 a.m., tours of the Duralde Restored Prairie begin. At 10 a.m., there’s a tour of Eunice Restored Prairie.
At noon in Rocky’s Cajun Kitchen there will be a presentation by: Dona Weifenbach titled “Acadiana Native Plant Project – Propagating Native Plants, Learning Together as We Grow”.
