“Blooms & Bamboo”: Chrysanthemums + Ikebana

Blooms & Bamboo, Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square, PennsylvaniaSomething new is on view at Longwood Gardens, 1001 Longwood Road, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.

Blooms & Bamboo: Chrysanthemum and Ikebana Sogetsu Artistry” is open through November 17, 2019. Billed as a “once-in-a-lifetime experience”, the display features towering Ikebana bamboo art forms, Asian-style arrangements, and thousands of blooming chrysanthemums throughout the Conservatory.

Headmaster Akane Teshigahara, a master of Ikebana Sogetsu, has created spiraling and twisting works of bamboo art for an extraordinary result.

And, the garden’s famed Thousand Bloom Chrysanthemum — a single plant bearing more than 1,000 blooms on a single stem — makes its dazzling debut October 24, 2019.
