Midwest Perennial Plant Association Symposium

Midwest Perennial Plant Symposium, Morton Arboretum, Lisle, Illinois“Garden Companions”, the 2020 Midwest Perennial Plant Association Symposium, will be held 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. February 1, 2020, in the Thornhill Education Center, Morton Arboretum, 4100 Illinois Route 53, Lisle, Illinois.

Registration fee ($125) includes admission to the Arboretum all day, light morning refreshments, a buffet lunch, and all program materials.

The Perennial Plant Association and The Morton Arboretum are teaming up to offer a day-long symposium entitled, ‘Garden Companions.’ Road Trips Gardeners are invited to listen, learn, and ask questions. Horticulture professionals and garden enthusiasts can meet well-known authors, discover great plants, and get ideas and inspiration for the 2020 growing season.

The program includes “Attracting Beneficial Bugs to Your Garden” by Jessica Walliser, author and radio co-host, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; “Native Plant Selections and Hybrids from the Midwest” by Brent Horvath, Intrinsic Perennial Gardens, Hebron, Illinois; “Gardening for the Sake of Gardens” by Chris Fehlhaber, Chanticleer Garden, Wayne, Pennsylvania; “Lighting the Way: Bright Selections for the Shade Garden” by Paul Zammit, Director of Horticulture, Toronto Botanical Garden, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and “Perennials Under a Woody Framework” by Mark Dwyer, Landscape Prescriptions by MD, Janesville, Wisconsin.
