Horticulture Symposium at Newfields in Indianapolis

Newfields, Indianapolis, IndianaA Horticulture Symposium is planned for February 29, 2020, at Newfields, 4000 Michigan Road, Indianapolis, Indiana. This is an all-day event (from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), and takes place in the Toby Theater and the Deer Zink Special Events Pavilion.

Cost is $95, and tickets are available online.

Road Trips Gardeners can join fellow plant-lovers for a day of talks focused on plants, design, and environmental stewardship. Topics include inspiration from travels in Japan, hardy perennials from the Chicago Botanic Garden trials, the integration of art and horticulture, annuals at the Cincinnati Zoo, developing resilient landscapes for a changing climate, and houseplant selection and care.

Speakers include Jonathan Wright, the Ruth Lilly Deputy Director for Horticulture and Natural Resources, Newfields; Richard Hawke, Plant Evaluation Manager and Associate Scientist, Chicago Botanic Garden; Chad Franer, The Tom and Nora Hiatt Director of Horticulture, Newfields; Susan Martin, freelance horticultural marketer, writer, and speaker at Gardener Sue’s News;
Paul Bouseman, Deputy Director, Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden; Brian Williams, Brian’s Botanicals; Amanda Griffith, Owner, Grounded Plant and Floral Company, and Scott Beuerlein, Manager of Botanical Garden Outreach, Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden.
