Cherry Blossom Time in Japan

cherry blossomsMaybe next year Road Trips Gardeners will be able to experience Cherry Blossom season in Japan in person.

Cherry blossoms usually open between mid-March and early May. In 2021, cherry blossoms started March 15 in Tokyo. In 2020 (okyo’s cherry blossom season officially began March 14, when flowers opened on a Someiyoshino tree at Yasukuni Shrine. This was the earliest ever bloom in Tokyo.)

In the meantime, we’ll just have to enjoy the beauty vicariously … here’s a video of cherry blossoms in Nigata Prefecture, Japan:
