Minnesota Garlic Festival
The Minnesota Garlic Festival takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday (August 12, 2023) at 840 Century Avenue SW, Hutchinson, Minnesota.
There’ll be garlic growers on hand from across the state.
Chef demonstrations are planned by Claudine Arndt (Director of Minnesota Cooks and Membership for Minnesota Farmers Union), Joe and Jennifer Cox (Buddy Boy Fine Barbecue), Beth Dooley (columnist for the Taste section of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune), Morgan (Jindrich) Baum (Owner and CEO of The Clay Coyote), Zehorit Heilicher, a teacher and writer about Israeli cooking, and Chef Nettie Col?n (Red Hen Gastrolab Concepts).
The garlicky dishes prepared by local chefs can be accompanied by a selection of wine, craft beer, cold cider, and garlic-based cocktails.
Blue ribbons and bragging rights for gardeners and garlic growers alike are promised during the festival’s Garlic Growing Contest. Prizes in 13 categories, plus “The Garlic Makeover” artistic competition will be presented at 4 p.m. in the Garlic building.
The Minnesota Garlic Festival is an educational and fundraising project of the Sustainable Farming Association’s Crow River Chapter.
