Orchard in Bloom
Orchard in Bloom doesn’t refer to blossoming fruit trees. Instead, this tented garden show, to be held April 30 through May 2, 2010, benefits a local private school named Orchard and a local park.
The event, now in its 21st year, takes place in Holliday Park, 6363 Spring Mill Road, Indianapolis. Although the guest speakers have not yet been announced, the featured artist is Julie Houck (you can take home one of her oil paintings of flowers if you don’t want to haul plants, Road Trips Gardeners!). That’s her “Opening Hearts”, at right. There’s even a Garden CafĂ©. General admission is $10 (or, $15 if you think you need a ticket for two or all three days of the show).
If you’re passing through Indy on April 29, 2010, you might consider buying a $45 ticket for “Before The Bloom” (the preview party), set for 6-8:30 p.m. Tapas, wine and coffee will be served up, along with the “first look” at the gardens on display and the vendors’ wares.
