Flower of the Day: Magnolia
Magnolias bloom early in a drought-stricken Los Angeles, California.
This pink flower (captured in early January) clings to a branch in front of the Fowler Museum on the Westwood campus of UCLA.
According to Wikipedia, Magnolia is a large genus of about 210 flowering plant species in the subfamily Magnolioideae of the family Magnoliaceae. It is named after French botanist Pierre Magnol.
