maine_amy-campbellIs Maine on your itinerary this summer, Road Trips Gardeners? Consider a stop at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, 132 Botanical Gardens Drive, Boothbay, Maine, for “Flower Foraging: Native Bees in Maine Gardens” with photography by Amy Campbell. The exhibit in the Resource Room of the Visitor Center is on display through August 3, 2014.

Did you know that Maine is home to more than 260 species of native bees? Digger Bees, Sweat Bees, Squash Bees, Leaf Cutter Bees, Bumblebees — large or small, they all have their own way of acquiring the floral rewards of nectar and pollen.

The photographs are part of the gardens’ A Year of Pollinators program.
