“For the Love of Orchids” is the theme for the 62d annual show (and sale) of the Sarasota Orchid Society, in cooperation with the Venice and Englewood Orchid Societies.

It will be held January 5 and 6, 2019, in the Sarasota Municipal Auditorium, 801 North Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, Florida. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission for adults is $5.

Hundreds of orchids will be on display, and judged for awards in 100 sq. ft. displays created by Sarasota, Venice, and Englewood Orchid Societies. A variety of orchid hybrids and species will be available for purchase.

Note that the show competition will be governed by the current “Handbook of Judging and Exhibition” of the American Orchid Society. There’s more about this online.
